All Politics Aside

No, I don't like her. Friends and family members say to me, politics aside, "isn't she cool?"
Nope. We have NOTHING in common. I don't hunt and I don't know a single other woman who does, even within our family of hunters. I don't like hockey. I will not judge her (at least out loud) for her parenting decisions but they are not mine, not even close. I do like Tina Fey and she does look a little like Tina Fey. However, if you know me very well, you know that I like Tina Fey because of her scar. And because she's funny. So nothing there.
I love pit bulls but I don't wear lipstick.

  2. Thank you, Sarah! I am glad I'm not the only one. Seems like EVERYone I know thinks she's a rockstar. There's plenty to not like!

  3. Wow. Evidence that we live in different parts of the country. You'd never hear a kind word for her here.

  4. It's funny, cause this is how conservatives feel about Barack Obama....

  5. I like her, but I relate. You just don't have enough redneck in you to understand. You can't always control what your kids do either, good luck. My parents weren't all that great, but I turn out alright, besides the point. (I know, I married older, it's a crime.) But I know parents who did EVERYTHING right and there kids are some of the biggest druggies I know. Be real and just relate with your kids.
I think it's awesome she's a gun toting, hockey momma.
I agree with Emily, just don't get it.

  6. I think no one can really know if they would like her as a person or not. All we have and will ever see is what they want us to see. The truth about how "cool" she may or may not be is not something we can know regardless of the titles she holds be it hockey-mom or hometown girl. I have found that some of the people I love and identify most with in this world are completely opposite of what I would think I relate to...Politically, I can't stand her views. But as a person I can relate to? Who knows...

  7. Of course that's true, Anon. It's something we all know. I guess I should say, I don't particularly like the public caricature she is using to define herself.

  8. I totally disagree with the decision she has made to run as VP, I think a woman with children at home, especially in her case, where an infant child has a special need, and a teenage daughter is pregnant, has no business doing what she's doing. I think she has her priorities screwed up BIG TIME!
